Charles Allston Collins (25 January 1828 - 9 April 1873) was a British painter, writer, and illustrator.
At the age of nineteen Collins entered the Royal Academy Schools where he formed lasting friendships with William Holman Hunt and John Everett Millais, and became associated with the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. The critic, John Ruskin, praised Collins's work for "its meticulous attention to botanical detail." (Wikipedia.org) (spartacus-educational.com)
